A football parable

Dear Editor,

Did you watch the Denver Broncos defeat at the hands of the Oakland Raiders on Monday night football? Weren’t you just a little disturbed at how the Denver fans were booing their team when they didn’t perform as expected? Didn’t you find it disconcerting when by the time the game ended there were probably only 1,000 fans left in the whole stadium?

Kind of reminds me of some of the opinions expressed lately about how our country is performing right now. How so many are booing the administration, the military, and anyone else who believes in fighting for the freedoms and rights that we all hold so dear.

But I’ll betcha’ that when the game is over there won’t be a whole lot of folks leaving the country. Because they know deep down inside that there is no other place to go; there is no other game with the freedom and rights we enjoy in this whole screwed up world; at least not if you want to be able to continue to have the freedom to boo your team.

Shame on those fans. They should be ashamed. That sure as heck would never happen in Packer Stadium in Green Bay. Go Packers and Go USA.
