A rose by any other name: Rose Ranch changes name to Ironbridge Golf Club

Staff Report

Rose Ranch has changed its name to Ironbridge Golf Club and Community, and the owners expect to open the 18-hole course next May.

Spokesman Tom Schmidt said the name was changed from Rose Ranch to Ironbridge because of the historic Hardwick Bridge that crosses the Roaring Fork River near the community’s entrance.

The 530-acre Ironbridge development, adjacent to the Westbank subdivision, includes 292 lots, and 82 building sites have been completed so far.

“Ironbridge will be a high-quality alternative to more expensive upper valley residential areas,” Schmidt said.

Amenities include a clubhouse, slated for completion in 2005, tennis courts, a swimming pool, and fitness center.
