Account set up to help Sally Ray

Dear Editor,

34-year-old Sally Ray was seriously injured in a snowmobiling accident on the Grand Mesa on April 13. Sally underwent surgery at St. Mary’s hospital where doctors placed two rods in her back and unfortunately discovered a partially severed spinal cord that has left Sally paralyzed from above her waist down. Sally was transferred to Craig Hospital in Englewood on April 29 where she is undergoing intense daily therapy in order to learn to live independently, being wheel chair bound. Sally says her probation (coming home) date is tentatively set for June 17, which is about one month sooner than doctors had originally predicted!

Sally is working very hard and has a great attitude, but is anxious to return to Rifle and be with her family and friends. Sally is married to James Ray and they have two little boys, Cody, 3, and Mitchell, 7. Sally’s parents are Gary and Shirley Parks of Rifle.
