April 1, 1906 – May 4, 2004Adela Drake went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 4, 2004. She was living with her granddaughter, Julie Firestone, at the time of her death. She was 98 years old. She was born in Truchas, N.M.After marrying her husband, Charles, they moved to Colorado and spent close to 70 years in Glenwood Springs with her family.Adela was a very busy and creative wife and mother. She loved to sew and crochet. She also patched many work pants for the working men in Glenwood.She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, Louise and Irene, and one son, Larry.Survivors are her oldest son, Harry Drake of Albuquerque, and youngest son, James Drake of Melbourne, Fla. She has 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Amos Roybal of Espanola, N.M., and many nephews and nieces.A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1016 Cooper Ave., in Glenwood Springs.A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1016 Cooper Ave., in Glenwood Springs.
