Fall into Alpacas…and Highland Cows
What: Interact with Sopris Farm alpacas, including their newest additions, Ferdinand and Daisy Mae. The farm allows guests to feed and pet the animals, and offers the chance to watch baby alpacas, called crias, playing in the fields. In addition to meeting the alpacas, visitors can shop at the farm’s boutique, which features a variety of products made from alpaca fiber, such as hats, gloves, blankets, sweaters, and socks.

Octoberfest
What: Get ready for an oompah – dancin’ and keg bowlin’ good time at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park’s annual Octoberfest! As the crisp autumn air settles in and the leaves begin to turn vibrant shades of gold and crimson, the team at Glenwood Caverns is thrilled to invite you to experience our Octoberfest celebrations. Beginning in late September and running through mid October, these Saturday events will transport you to this cultural experience, complete with the mouthwatering fall festival foods, the lively sounds of traditional German music, and the infectious energy of guests raising a stein of lager in celebration. Savor the flavor of authentic German cuisine, sway to the rhythm of our oompah band, and participate in our traditional contests like the stein-holding contest and keg bowling – all while surrounded by the natural beauty of the Colorado mountains.

Valhalla Viking Festival
What: Step back into the Viking Age with members of the Society for Creative Anachronism’s (SCA) Shire of Draca Mor. Experience live demonstrations of Viking-era musical instruments, crafts, and more. Discover how the Scandinavian people lived, what they ate, how they navigated, and what they wore in this engaging, hands-on event.

Culinary Arts Fest
What: The Culinary Arts Fest, Glenwood Springs Arts Council’s biggest fundraiser, promises a fun-filled day with a Wild West twist. Enjoy delicious food and drinks from local restaurants while supporting scholarships for kids ages 5 to 18 and creating space for local artists to shine. This year’s festival features live music from Highway 82, a dance floor, stick horse races, a silent auction, and even a photo booth.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
What: In this adaptation of Washington Irving’s iconic American ghost story, award-winning playwright Mark Scharf brings a thrilling theatrical experience to life. The tale follows Ichabod Crane, a Connecticut outsider, as he struggles to fit into the close-knit and mysterious community of Sleepy Hollow—a place haunted by supernatural legends, including the chilling story of the Headless Horseman.
