Air Force Academy Band to make visit

Soon after the U.S. Air Force Academy was formed, the Air Force mandated the creation of a musical ensemble to reflect the Academy’s peerless standards and to support troop morale, recruiting and community relations.Today, that ensemble, the U.S. Air Force Academy Band, sustains its mandate on a national and international scale as it represents the Air Force Academy and the futuristic Air Force Space Command through public concerts. Monday, the U.S. Air Force Academy Band comes to Glenwood Springs. As one of the Air Force’s two premier bands, The USAF Academy Band maintains an aggressive concert schedule of regional and national tours. The band also performs for radio and television broadcasts. Invitational performances have included the Midwest Band and Orchestra Convention, the American Bandmasters Association National Convention and the American School Band Directors Association National Convention.
