Albert Augustus (Al) Weller, Jr.

Albert Augustus (Al) Weller, Jr. of Glenwood Springs, died Jan. 3, 2012. He was born Jan. 30, 1929 in Camden, New Jersey, the son of Jessie and Albert A. Weller, Sr.

He served in the U.S. Army in the United States and Munich, Germany, where he resided until 1953. He married Maudie Howell in June 1953 and returned to the U.S., residing in Denver, Alamosa, and then Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

He was a salesman for Davis Brothers Wholesale Drug Company, Bergen Brunswig, and then C.D. Smith. He worked at Safeway and Cafe Suzanne in his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Maudie of Glenwood Springs; his son, Gregory (Debra) Weller of Lexington, Kentucky and their children, Samantha (Mark Reisdorph) and Stephen; his daughter, Stephanie (Donald Putzier) of Mankato, Minnesota and their children, Eddie and Leslie; his sister Doris of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Russell and his granddaughter, Rachel.



His hobbies were fishing, downhill skiing, and traveling.

Memorials are preferred to First United Methodist Church, Glenwood Springs Public Library or a charity of choice.



Services will be held at First United Methodist Church on Friday, Jan. 6 at 2 p.m.
