Alexander R. Taft, 27, was tragically killed in a car accident in Parachute May 29, 2008. He was born Dec. 25, 1980, in Chicago, to Richard and Anne Taft.Alex recently earned his master’s degree from the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He was on his way to realizing his dream of being a screenwriter in Los Angeles. He held an undergraduate degree in English with a concentration in creative writing from the University of Missouri, and was a member of the graduating class of 1999 at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ill. Alex will always be remembered as a passionate Cubs fan, tremendous writer, accomplished guitarist and cherished friend to many. Survivors include his parents and brother Erick Taft of Chicago. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, at Christ Church, 784 Sheridan Road in Winnetka. Memorial contributions may be made to Cubs Care at Wrigley Field, 1060 W.
