Alice Marie Gardiner Peckham

Alice Marie Gardiner Peckham of Sandwich, Mass., a former resident of Glenwood Springs, died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, in Sandwich. She was 88.

A private memorial service is planned, according to her wishes.

She was born July 26, 1915, in East Providence, R.I., to Agnes and Earnest Gardiner. She spent her childhood in East Providence and graduated from East Providence High School.

Ms. Peckham worked as a parts inspector for U.S. Ring Traveler in Cranston, R.I. After her retirement in 1981, she moved to Glenwood Springs, where she lived until 1992.

She then moved to Sandwich, on Cape Cod.

Ms. Peckham enjoyed gardening and needlework.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy McDonald, of Pawtucket, R.I.

Ms. Peckham is survived by sons and daughter-in-law Robert and Terry Peckham of Glenwood Springs, the owner of Quick Valley Printing, and Roy and Ann-Marie Peckham of Sandwich, Mass.; by six grandsons and five great-grandchildren; and by special friends Fred and Velma Rowland of Glenwood Springs.

Sperry and McHoul Funeral Home in North Attleboro, Mass., is in charge of arrangements.
