Alta Myrtle Pearl Lively, 92, passed away March 19, 2008, in Glenwood Springs.

She was born July 17, 1915, in Woodward, Okla., to John and Mary (Kleist) Blomgren.

Alta married Jess J. Lively on Feb. 18, 1933, in Woodland, Okla. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and everything and anything needed by family and friends. Alta was very active in the Four Square Church in New Castle and other churches, and was also a teacher.

She is survived by son Lex Lively of Rifle; grandchildren Ricky Lively of New Castle, Heidi Lively of Tucson, Ariz., and Jesse Harrison of Rifle; and sister Viola Yandell of Grand Junction.

Alta was preceded in death by her husband; sons Kim, Ottie, Waldo and Dale; grandson Rudy; and siblings Lawrence, Carl, Henry, Grace, John Arthur, and Alfied.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at the Farnum Holt Chapel in Glenwood Springs. Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. Monday, March 24, at the Farnum Holt Chapel. Thom Jones and Eddie Piker will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in New Castle.
