Anderson’s arguments baffle reader

Rene Mendoza

Dear Editor,

“… all you need to get a license, which allows you to, among other things, buy a gun …” Does this mean that acquiring a gun without a driver’s license is impossible?

“… get on an airplane …,” so other forms of picture ID can’t be used, such as a passport?

“… enroll in flight school (sound familiar?) …,” so the only country in the world where you can learn to fly is the U.S.? Without outside support and working a minimum wage job, how many illegal immigrants can afford flight school? Also does using a PC flight simulator, which have gotten extremely realistic, now require a driver’s license?

“… and even vote …” I think I’ll give those 13 states the benefit of the doubt in terms of how they control their voter registration. Or are they so dumb they did not think through the voting issue thoroughly?

I guess a driver’s license is somehow imbued with some magical properties that allow you to do the above while at the same time absolutely stopping the above.

“In Los Angeles in MacArthur Park, for $90 you can buy a Mexican birth certificate or just about anything else you want.” So Bob wants illegal immigrants to get driver’s licenses at MacArthur Park?
