Angelina Wessels Hurd
Angelina Wessels Hurd passed away Oct. 8, 2005, at the Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale.
She was born Oct. 14, 1919, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., to Katherine S. and William L. Wessels.
Ange graduated from Cornell University in 1941, and held a Masters of Library Science from Case Western Reserve University. Ange worked as a reference librarian for the Wayne County Public Library in Wooster, Ohio, from 1962 until her retirement in 1986.
She enjoyed painting in oils and water colors, playing bridge and reading. Ange lived in Creston, Ohio, until retirement, when the urge to spend time with all four of her children in Colorado was too great and she decided to make the move herself.
Ange is survived by daughter Susan, of Boulder; sons Hugh (Jackie), of Broomfield, Vance (Jill), of Carbondale, and Bill (Nancy), of Carbondale; and grandchildren Ryan, Katherine, Max and Will.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Carbondale.
Donations may be made to the Friends of the Gordon Cooper Library, 76 S. Fourth St., Carbondale, CO 81623.
