Angeline Marie Griffith

Angeline Marie Griffith of Aspen died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, in Mesa, Ariz. She was 79.

She was born May 23, 1923, in Aspen to Johana Blatnick and Joseph Muhich.

She married Roy Griffith in 1956 in Aspen. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Griffith is a former owner of the White Kitchen restaurant in Aspen.

She was a member of the Eagles and Elks lodges in Aspen, and the Aspen Literary Society. She was very active in the Aspen community.

Mrs. Griffith loved gardening and cooking. Her speciality was making jam.

For the past 30 years, she wintered in Arizona.

Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by a brother, John Muhich.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Carolyn Griffith of Redding, Calif.; and by a granddaughter, Lorie Griffith, also of Redding.

A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 533 E. Main St. in Aspen.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, also at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael O’Brien officiating.

Burial will follow in Red Butte Cemetery in Aspen.

Farnum-Holt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
