Mind Springs Health rated tops again in February for reducing client’s symptom severity

The Colorado Department of Human Services’ (CDHS) Office of Behavioral Health has released its most recent C-STAT ranking of the state’s 17 community mental health centers. Mind Springs Health again is ranked No. 1 in reducing symptom severity for clients, as it has been for the past three months.

“This rise, and consistency, in the rankings represents the incredible, hard work of our staff,” said Sharon Raggio, president & CEO of Mind Springs Health and West Springs Hospital, the only psychiatric hospital on the Western Slope. “We are dedicated to quality client care and recovery, and we appreciate these efforts are being noted on a statewide level.”

C-STAT (short for Colorado Statistics) is a performance-based analysis that allows the Department of Human Services to focus on and improve community mental health center patient outcomes. Providers are ranked by their performance monthly on quality-focused measures. In February’s report, Mind Springs Health successfully decreased clients’ symptom severity in 81 percent of cases. In another area of note, the Access to Treatment within 3 Days measure, Mind Springs Health scored a remarkable 97.4 percent, which means that the time between first contact and actual outpatient treatment occurred within three days 97.4 percent of the time. By comparison, the statewide averages for these two measures are 56.6 percent in reducing symptom severity and 79 percent in access to care.
