Name change for Monahan, Lampman & Hays

The accounting firm of Monahan, Lampman & Hays P.C. has changed its name to Hays, Maggard and Hood P.C. The firm has served the Western Slope of Colorado since 1970. With the passing of Ray Monahan in 2010 and the transition of Steve Lampman into preretirement during 2013, the change recognizes the firm’s growth and allows it to operate under the names of the licensed professionals that have been added to the practice’s ownership over the years: Jerry Hays, Roger Maggard and Joe Hood.



Centennial Bank names advisory board for Vail Valley

Centennial Bank has announced the formation of an advisory board for the Vail Valley composed of several local business owners and executives. The founding members include Juliann Gornick, president, Juliann Gornick Business Services Inc. (of Glenwood Springs); Dan Bennett, managing member, SW Greens Management; Kraig Forbes, founder, Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty; and Tom Jaffe, broker associate, Slifer, Smith & Frampton.

Rural Energy for America Program Workshop

The Roaring Fork Business Resource Center sponsors a free training for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grant application from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Marriott Courtyard Glenwood Springs, 105 Wulfsohn Road. REAP can assist small businesses, farmers and ranchers with energy efficiency & renewable energy projects. Eligible applicants must be small businesses placing improvements on commercial buildings or agricultural producers placing improvements on their agriculture buildings. Training is free, but space is limited; RSVP required at (970) 945-5158.

The Glass Guru of Glenwood Springs has a new website

The Glass Guru of Glenwood Springs has launched a new website to better serve its customers, http://www.theglassguruofglenwoodsprings.com. It features all the services and products offered. It also features a live Twitter feed that will show recent projects and home improvement and maintenance tips for the home.

Glenwood Chamber magazine is travel media competition winner

The Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association has won silver in the 2013 annual North American Travel Journalists Association Awards Competition in the organization visitor’s guide category. This awards competition, now in its 22nd year, honors the “best of the best” in travel writing, photography and promotion that cover all aspects of the travel industry worldwide.

NATJA Awards recognize excellence in travel writing, photojournalism, social media, multimedia platforms, advertising, marketing and public relations for the travel and tourism industry. This year, NATJA received 600 submissions from all over the world.

NATJA is the second largest travel media association in North America. Members include travel media professionals, convention and visitors bureaus, social media, hotels and attractions, and other travel marketing agencies. Members are provided with professional development workshops, peer-to-peer evaluation, web tools and networking opportunities. NATJA also publishes TravelWorld International Magazine (www.travelworldmagazine.com).
