American Legion seeks help posting flags

American Legion Post 83 of Glenwood Springs is seeking volunteers to help post more than 500 U.S. flags by the graves of fallen and deceased veterans. Those interested can meet at 4 p.m. Friday, May 23, near the brick building in Rosebud Cemetery. For information, call Dan E. LeVan at 618-1910.

Mobile Vet Center in Rifle

The Mobile Vet Center will be at the Colorado State Veterans Home parking lot, 851 E. Fifth St. in Rifle, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 23. Machine Quilting on a Domestic Sewing Machine with Joan Musick

The Rifle Branch Library is teaming with Anvil Points Quilt Guild to bring in Colorado Springs quilter Joan Musick to the Rifle Branch Library at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3. Joan Musick made her first quilt in 1980 and has been an avid quilter ever since. Joan will demonstrate machine quilting on a Domestic Sewing Machine. She will finish her presentation with a quilt show featuring 30 years of her own quilts. A free lunch will be provided courtesy of Anvil Points Quilt Guild.
