Silt Heyday

Silt Heyday will take place again this year at Stoney Ridge Park. This year we celebrate 100 years of Silt. There will be a town-sponsored concert on Friday, July 31; breakfast, parade, food, craft vendors, and free music at Stoney Ridge, and additional events at the Silt Historical Park on Saturday, Aug. 1; and the Heyday Hobble 5K and the Heyday Car show on Sunday, Aug. 2. Tickets for the Friday concert and booth, parade, Hobble and car show forms are available at under the tab for special events, or during normal business hours at the town of Silt office. Tosho Con: Call for teen artwork

The Carbondale Branch Library is seeking submissions for a teen art contest to take place during Tosho Con: A Fandom Festival on Wednesday, July 15. Participants must be between the ages of 14 and 18. Submissions must be received at the library by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14. The winner will be given free registration to the Aspen Words Summer Graphic Novel Workshop that will take place the week of July 27. For more information, call 970-963-2889.

Defiance Community Players announces ‘Fiddler on the Roof’

Defiance Community Players’ fall 2015 musical will be “Fiddler on the Roof,” directed by Wendy Moore. The musical will take place at the Jeannie Miller Auditorium in Glenwood Springs High School.
