Grant money available for qualified Garfield County housing nonprofits

The Glenwood Springs Association of Realtors (GSAR) is accepting grant applications from qualified Garfield County organizations that provide housing services to moderate- to low-income persons or households. GSAR has $5,280 available for local housing-related projects. To be eligible for funds, organizations must be based in Colorado, have a housing-related mission, and be a nonprofit agency with a 501(c)3 status or a public agency. The deadline to submit applications is July 10. To request an application, call the GSAR office, 970-945-9762.

Marion Gulch Hike



Join Wilderness Workshop’s Sarah Johnson for a day hike into Thompson Divide along the Marion Gulch trail at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11. The trail starts in an aspen grove and then gains elevation to a beautiful ridge near the Sunlight Ski Area with views of Mount Sopris. This mid-elevation moderate hike is 6 miles long. No dogs are allowed. Bring appropriate day hike equipment including water, snacks, and lunch. Registration is required at http://www.wildernessworkshop.org. Call 970-510-0697 with questions.

Glenwood Springs Art Guild’s July Demonstration



The Glenwood Springs Art Guild’s July demonstration will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1630 Grand Ave., Glenwood Springs. Dean Bowlby will be the demonstrator. For more information call 970-274-3325.
