Alice In Wonderland/ Mad Hatter Tea

The theme for this year’s annual tea at the Rifle Heritage Center is Alice In Wonderland/ Mad Hatter Tea. The tea starts at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, and there will be entertainment and food for $15 for adults and $10 for children. Call 625-4862 to make reservations.

New Castle Chamber/Town Garage Sale

The New Castle Chamber/Town Garage Sale takes place from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 21. Drive around and look for the balloons attached to trash containers. There will be garage sales throughout town.

‘Carmen’ in Carbondale

Opera Colorado’s 2016 Opera on Tour presents “Carmen” at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at the Third Street Center in Carbondale. 12th annual River Float

Ever wonder about the birds along the river? Or where the water from the Roaring Fork goes after joining the Colorado? Or just want to enjoy a beautiful morning on the river? Join Roaring Fork Conservancy staff and hand-picked local water experts on an informative, fun float down the Lower Roaring Fork River starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 4. After the float, lunch is provided at Coryell Ranch with stand up paddle boarding or fly casting demos.

Full day costs $45 or $35 for members, and lunch and demos is $25/$20 for adults, $10 for ages 5-12 and free under 5. Space is limited, and registration is required by June 1. Carbondale Rotary Happening

Carbondale Rotary Casino Royale, “What Happens in Carbondale, Stays in Carbondale” is the theme for this year’s Carbondale Rotary Club Happening, taking place from 6-10 p.m. Friday, June 10, at the Carbondale Recreation and Community Center. Enjoy an evening of casino games (craps, roulette, poker and blackjack tables), dinner and drinks, a small silent auction, music and dancing with Valle Musico, and socializing. Proceeds benefit Rotary scholarships for graduating seniors in Carbondale and Basalt. Tickets are $75 each. RSVP to to reserve your tickets.

Flea market seeks vendors

The Second Saturday Flea Market at the Elks Lodge in Glenwood Springs is looking for vendors. Dates of the market will be June 11, July 9, Aug. 13, Sept. 10 and Oct. 8. There will be food/music/buy-sell-trade. The market will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Email for more information.

Meeker Classic Cattledog Trials

At the Meeker Classic Cattledog Trials June 15-19, 140 of North America’s best working cattledogs will gather to match themselves against Meeker’s tough, independent cattle as they compete for the national title. This trial represents the culmination of a year’s worth of qualifying trials as these dogs and their handlers travel from 31 states and provinces in Canada to compete at the National Cattledog Association National Finals.
