Glenwood Downtown Market’s Fabulously Majestic Mac & Cheese Contest

Enter your best macaroni and cheese creation in the Downtown Market’s Mac & Cheese Contest on Tuesday, July 14. Deliver to the market in Centennial Park by 5 p.m., and judging begins at 6 p.m.

River Center’s Spaghetti/Silent Auction Fundraiser

River Center’s third annual Spaghetti/Silent Auction Fundraiser will take place from 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 24, in Burning Mountain Park in downtown New Castle. The event will include a live band, auctioneer, silent auction, and games/snow cones for the kids. Silent auction items include a Denver Zoo package for four, ski passes at Aspen and Vail along with tickets to professional Colorado teams. Funds raised will be used for emergency assistance in Silt/New Castle (medical, rent/utility assistance, gas/bus cards) and help fund our Angel Tree and School Supply Drive. Advance tickets are $10 adult/$5 child; at the event tickets are $12 adult/$7 child. Tickets can be purchased by calling 984-4333 or stopping by the River Center office between 9 a.m. and noon at 126 N. Fourth in New Castle.

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

Join Wilderness Workshop’s Sarah Johnson for a day hike into Thompson Divide along the Marion Gulch trail at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11. 6 miles long. No dogs are allowed. Registration is required at Call (970) 510-0697 with questions.
