Family Filoha Fireflies, Bats, and Bugs
Stay up late for an evening to explore a special place with your family from 7:30-9:15 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at Filoha Meadows Open Space, near Redstone. We’ll meet some of the local residents such as aquatic insects, Townsend’s’ big eared bats, and fireflies, too! We’ll learn about their adaptations through hands-on discovery, games and activities. Once it is dark we’ll try to catch a firefly to hold in our hands and look at closely. Appropriate for families with children of all ages and their parents. Please dress appropriately as the program will happen rain or shine. Registration is required and opens three weeks in advance of programs at http://www.roaringfork.org/events. Call 970- 927-1290 with questions.
