Shred event and BBQ
A paper-shredding event and BBQ to benefit Advocate Safehouse will take place from 4-6 p.m. Friday, May 27, in the parking lot of the Riverside Professional Building, 2700 Gilstrap Court across from Elk Mountain Motors in West Glenwood. Suggested donation is $10 per box. The event is presented by Jay McGlade of Edward Jones, and the shredding services are donated by PaperWise. For information call 928-7145.
Help post flags on veterans’ graves
With Memorial Day approaching, American Legion Post 83 of Glenwood Springs is looking for volunteers to help post more than 500 flags by veterans’ graves. Anyone interested can meet at 4 p.m. Friday, May 27, near the brick building in Rosebud Cemetery. For more information, call Dan E. LeVan at 618-1910.
Memorial Day commemoration
The American Legion Post 83 of Glenwood Springs will conduct its annual Memorial Day commemoration at 11 a.m. Monday, May 30, at Rosebud Cemetery. The public is encouraged to attend.
Bilingual Storytime
This summer, select Wednesday storytimes at the Silt Branch Library will be a bilingual storytime. Children age 2-6 are welcome to join Ms. Camilla on a bilingual adventure through books and songs to learn reading and Spanish vocabulary at 10 a.m. June 1, 8, 29 and July 6, 13, 27. Summer Reading Family Picnic
