Medicare open enrollment
Medicare open enrollment is here. Until Dec. 7, people can compare Medicare benefits for the next year and change their prescription drug plan, Medicare D, or Medicare Advantage Plan. Trained counselors from High Country RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) are available to help with free, unbiased assistance. Call High Country RSVP at 970-384-8744 and a volunteer will call to schedule an appointment.
Navigating the Grief Journey
The holidays are approaching and they can be a difficult and sad time for those who are grieving. Join Karen Smith, a Grief Recovery Method Specialist, as she talks about understanding grief and introduces the “Grief Recovery Method” as one system to use when navigating the grief process. This hour-long, free program will be held at the Rifle Branch Library at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9. For more information, call 970-625-3471.
Holiday nutrition lecture
Midland Fitness personal trainer and nutrition specialist Britt Glock is offering an informative lecture called “Eat your way through the holidays” at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Midland Fitness. The Glenwood Springs Chamber is hosting the event, and Midland Fitness has opened it to the public. Britt will provide practical techniques to stay on track during the holidays.
