Veterans Day at Sopris Elementary
On Wednesday, Nov. 11, Sopris Elementary will be holding an assembly to honor and celebrate veterans of foreign wars. The fourth- and fifth-graders will be presenting research and information about veterans in their families and singing patriotic songs.
All local veterans are invited to come and be honored. The event will begin at 1 p.m. at the Sopris Elementary School gymnasium.

Veterans Day at American Legion
The American Legion Post 100 in Carbondale is hosting a Veterans Day Dinner starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 97 N. Third St. The dinner is free for all past and present veterans, $7 for nonveterans. Spaghetti with bread and salad will be served. The event is open to the public. Veterans Day Project with GrassRoots TV
In honor of Veterans Day, the Carbondale Branch Library is partnering with GrassRoots Community Network and its Roaring Fork Veterans History Project to show several interviews with former soldiers from different conflicts, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. Navigating the Grief Journey
The holidays are approaching and they can be a difficult and sad time for those who are grieving. Join Karen Smith, a Grief Recovery Method Specialist, as she talks about understanding grief and introduces the “Grief Recovery Method” as one system to use when navigating the grief process. This hour-long, free program will be held at the Rifle Branch Library at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9. For more information, call 970-625-3471.
