Dine out Tuesday and help veterans

The Western Slope Veterans Coalition will partner today with more than 40 restaurants to benefit veterans living in the Roaring Fork and Eagle valleys at the first ever Dining Out For Veterans fundraiser. Participating restaurants (www.rmhumanservices.org/diningout) will dedicate 10 to 20 percent of the day’s proceeds to the WSVC’s Veterans Emergency Fund. Without spending an extra penny, diners can contribute to this fund just by visiting a participating restaurant. All of the money raised will go to emergency requests from veterans in need on the Western Slope. In addition, diners can attend a VIP three-course dinner at L’Hostaria restaurant in Aspen for $125 per person ($75 tax deductible). This VIP dinner will include a short program on the coalition and numerous drawings for area gift certificates.

Spanish Storytime

The Silt Branch Library offers Spanish Storytime for children ages 3-6. This eight-week program will begin on June 11 and run through July 30. Stories, songs, and activities will explore camping and the outdoors. This program will be held on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. For more information, call 970-876-5500.
