Night of storytelling

Storytellers Eric Lamb, Jack Green, Alice Gustafson, Bill and Nancy Bo Flood will take you to France, Oklahoma, South Texas and Micronesia on a night of stories on “New Beginnings” from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, at the Glenwood Springs Library. Glenwood Springs Art Guild’s January demonstration

The Glenwood Springs Art Guild’s January demonstration will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1630 Grand Ave. in Glenwood Springs. Local oil painter Noemi Kosmowski will be the demonstrator. The general meeting will follow. For further information call Alice Davenport at 970-274-3325. The meeting is free to the public.

The West: A Movie Series

The Carbondale Branch Library, in partnership with the Mt. Sopris Historical Society, will be showing 90-minute episodes from PBS’ documentary series “New Perspectives on the West” on the third Saturday of the month in January, February and March. January’s episode is titled “The People” and will be viewed at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16. Popcorn will be served. For more information, call 970-963-2889.
