One Book 4 Colorado

The Garfield County Libraries are promoting the importance of early reading by providing a free picture book (in English or Spanish) to any 4-year-old as part of the One Book 4 Colorado program. One Book 4 Colorado is a statewide initiative aiming to support family reading at home. Families of 4-year-olds can stop by any of the libraries from today through April 25 to pick up a copy while supplies last. For more information, visit

Glenwood Railroad Museum seeks volunteers

The Glenwood Railroad Museum needs the help and support of the greater Glenwood Springs community. In an effort to recruit and train new volunteers to support the ongoing operation of the Glenwood Railroad Museum and its programs, the public is invited to attend a seminar for prospective volunteers at the Glenwood Railroad Museum at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Glenwood Railroad Museum.

Staff work day closure

All six branches of the Garfield County Libraries will be closed Tuesday, April 26, for a staff training day. The libraries will resume normal hours at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 27. You can still browse and request books, movies, and more on our website,, during the closure.
