KDNK board of directors meeting

The KDNK board of directors will hold its next meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the offices of KDNK, 76 S. Second St. in Carbondale. The meeting is open to the public. An agenda is posted at the KDNK office. For information contact KDNK at 963-0139.

Western Slope Veterans Coalition open house

Valley veterans and the community are invited to attend an open house for the Western Slope Veterans Coalition from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the Third Street Center, 520 Third St. in Carbondale. The event is sponsored by the Center for Independence and Rocky Mountain Human Services/Western Slope Veterans Coalition. The coalition is opening a new office and expanding services in the Roaring Fork Valley. Come to explore veterans support programs for traumatic brain injury, homelessness, employment and mental health. Staff will be present to inform attendees how community members can get involved in supporting our returning military veterans. Light refreshments will be provided. Archaeological society potluck picnic

The Roaring Fork Chapter of the Colorado Archaeological Society will have its annual potluck picnic at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the south shelter in Veltus Park. Burgers and brats will be provided; others may bring side dishes or desserts and their choice of drinks. Anyone interested in archaeology is welcome to attend.
