Gong bath and meditation

Strange Imports presents its second gong bath and meditation with sound master Daniel Pierce from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at the store, 423 Main St., Carbondale (next to the Crystal Theater). This is a complimentary meditation, but donations are kindly accepted.

Carbondale Bicycle Ditch Tour

Hop on your bike and join Carbondale’s Water Department staff on a ride to a town ditch head gate on the Crystal River near the fish hatchery bridge south of town from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4. Then follow the ditch back into town learning about the unique complexities of the town’s ditch system. Bring your own bike, and helmets are required. Please dress appropriately; the tour will happen rain or shine. Meet at Carbondale Town Hall, 511 Colorado Ave. Cost is $10 or free for Roaring Fork Conservancy members. Parents’ Night Out

The next Parents’ Night Out takes place from 5-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the First United Methodist Church of Glenwood Springs. Have a night on the town and the kids (age 3 and older, must be potty trained) will be well taken care of with dinner, games, crafts and a movie, “Rio 2.” Cost of $10 per child covers an evening full of food, fun and feathers.
