Living Wax Museum

The upper elementary classrooms of Ross Montessori will host their annual “Living Wax Museum” on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Carbondale Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and 1:30-2:45 p.m. All are invited.

Giving Made Easy

Learn how to provide financially for the causes and organizations you care about — without changing your will. A panel including a CPA, and estate attorney, and a financial advisor will present easy tools you can use to leave a lasting gift. Appetizers and wine will be served. Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

Garfield County Winter Job Fair

The Glenwood Springs Workforce Center is hosting a winter hiring event from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Glenwood Springs Library, 815 Cooper Ave. Representatives from more than 20 businesses will attend with full- and part-time positions to be filled. There will be hundreds of seasonal jobs with ski resorts and hotels across the state, and job seekers can also find out about year-round positions as well. Having an account with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment’s job bank, Connecting Colorado (, is helpful but not required. TRTC announces auditions for

‘Red Herring’

Thunder River Theatre Company will be holding auditions for Michael Hollinger’s “Red Herring,” a hilarious noire comedy about love and marriage. TRTC has produced two of his plays in the past, the last being “Ghost-Writer.” “Red Herring” will be directed by TRTC friend and guest Wendy Moore.

Saturday, Oct. 25, auditions will be from 1-2:30 p.m. for characters 35 or younger; and at 2:30 p.m. for characters 35 or older.

Monday, Oct. 27, auditions will be from 6:30-8 p.m. for characters 35 or older; and from 8-8:30 p.m. for characters 35 or younger who could not make Saturday.

Callbacks are from 8:30-9:30 on Monday, Oct. 27.

The show rehearses May through June 2015 and runs June 19 through July 4.
