Libraries Closing for Thanksgiving Holi

The Rifle, New Castle and Carbondale branch libraries will be closing early at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, in celebration of Thanksgiving. Then, all six branches of the Garfield County Libraries will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28. The libraries will reopen at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29.

CCAH’s Deck the Walls Holiday Show

opens Friday

For the holiday season, CCAH transforms the R2 Gallery into a shop filled with artisanal goods created by local and regional artists. The Deck the Walls Holiday Show features fine jewelry, silks scarves and wool cowls; handmade dolls, lamps and candles; handcrafted bath and beauty supplies and kitchen wares; and one-of-a-kind holiday ornaments and cards.

Deck the Walls will be open for shopping from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays from Nov. 21 through Dec. 24. For more information, visit http://www.carbondalearts.com or call 970-963-1680.

Symphony in the Valley seeks members

Symphony in the Valley is looking for volunteer musicians to join this community orchestra. Practices are currently under way for the Christmas concert series. Symphony in the Valley is a volunteer organization comprising local musicians of all ages who play an orchestra instrument. High school students are welcome with a teacher’s recommendation.
