A Vegan Lifestyle

Thinking about going vegan? Grand River Health family physician Dr. Laurie Marbas will host informational presentations about the immense health benefits of a vegan lifestyle. Learn how to transition, to shop on a limited budget, collect new recipes, and more. Discover how simple dietary changes can improve the overall health of you and your family. Carbondale special event meeting

There will be a special event meeting from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Carbondale Town Hall. The agenda is: 4:30-5 p.m. Task Force Review of Last Year Events; 5-5:15 p.m. Street Closures for 2015; and 5:15-6:15 p.m. Review of the 2015 Calendar and Public Input.

Walk for ovarian cancer awareness

At 8:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, at 444 River Valley Ranch Road in Carbondale, walk as a “sleepwalker” in conjunction with the Run for Her in Los Angeles. Learn about the symptoms of ovarian cancer, have a snack beforehand, and enjoy a “community walk” honoring those in the battle and those who have lost their battle with this cancer.
