Redstone Castle Tours

Guided tours of the Historic Redstone Castle are Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. through the winter with special Holiday tours Dec. 29-31. Visit the baronial home of Redstone’s founder, J.C. Osgood. Take a step back in time and learn about coal mining, railroad and model company town, all in 1900. Tickets available on the day of the tour in Redstone. Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

Come and build a snowman at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31. We will be building snowmen, playing games, winning prizes, and having lots of fun. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served. Bring an old tube sock if you can.

Literacy Outreach volunteer information session

Want to make a difference in the new year? Volunteer to tutor an adult needing to learn basic literacy skills. Some struggle to read and write. Some struggle to improve their oral English skills. The Loving Side of Islam

Join author, Brad Tyndall, to learn about the basic tenets of Islam. He will share his many stories of life-threatening brushes with Muslim extremists, as well as stories of loving experiences. He calls attention to the many beautiful verses of the Qur’an and will read some beautiful Sufi (Muslim mystic) poetry. This event will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at the Rifle Branch Library.
