Lotería Night

The Carbondale Branch Library is hosting Lotería Nights on the last Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m., starting on Aug. 28.

This game is fun for the whole family and a great way to learn some Spanish. Loteria is an iconic Mexican game, very similar to bingo, but instead of using numbers Loteria playing cards consist of pictograms.

Beverages will be provided, and participants are welcome to bring snacks to share. Call the library at 963-2889 for more information.

PDA Wheels for the Future

Professional Diesel and Automotive is hosting the PDA Wheels for the Future event at 2 p.m. Sept. 7 at Gianinetti Spring Creek in Carbondale. There will be live music, food and beverages to raise money for someone who is deserving and in need of a working car. PDA is initiating this event in the hopes that a deserving person from the community will be nominated to receive a car that has been fully serviced and in good working condition. This selection will be made from recommendations and nominations from members of the community of people who continuously contribute and give back to others in the community.
