One Book, One Community

To celebrate opening its new building, the Glenwood Springs Branch Library is hosting a One Book, One Community event this October with Dr. Mary Doria Russell’s national bestseller, “Doc: A Novel.” Learn the story of the man who made history, and lived and died in Glenwood Springs, Dr. John Henry “Doc” Holliday. The Glenwood Springs Branch Library will host several programs for this communitywide reading event. Cindy Hines of the Frontier Historical Society will present on what life was like during the legendary days of Doc Holliday in “Glenwood Springs in 1887: A Historical Talk” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19. At 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, Russell will speak and answer questions on her acclaimed novel. Free tickets to this event are available at the library’s Grand Opening Ceremony or from the library starting Monday, Sept. 16.



A Course In Miracles

A Course In Miracles takes participants on a journey through a year of spiritual study in a group dynamic. Sessions begin Sept. 24 in Glenwood Springs and continue from 5:30-7 p.m. on Tuesdays; sessions begin Sept. 25 in Carbondale and continue from 1:30-3 p.m. on Wednesdays. There is a minimum monthly fee, and books are available.
