Christmas Tree Lane celebration

Christmas Tree Lane takes place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the First United Methodist Church, 824 Cooper Ave. in Glenwood Springs. It’s an event that invites local nonprofit organizations to decorate a tree at the church and is a fundraising event for participants. There will be a pancake breakfast served from 8-10 a.m. free of charge (though donations are encouraged); worship service and Communion at 10:30 a.m.; and a chili cook-off begins at noon. Tasting is free, and tasters can vote for their favorite by putting dollars in the jar next to the best chili. Kids get to write letters to Santa, make crafts and take photos in the photo booth. There’s also a Chocolate Room where participants can fill a plate of assorted chocolate treats for only $5. Contact Toni Yorty 970-948-5831 or toni.yorty@live.com with questions.
