Hospice volunteer training to be held in Glenwood Springs
Hospice of the Valley will host comprehensive training sessions for volunteers in Garfield County on Thursday through Saturday, April 16-18, at the Colorado State Veterans Home at 851 N. Fifth St., Rifle. The three sessions will meet the required 12-hour training and will occur from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 16-17, culminating in an all-day 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. training on Saturday. Those who would like to be of comfort to those with a terminal illness, including military veterans, are encouraged to apply. Training topics will include dispelling hospice myths, how to be a good listener, care and comfort measures, guidelines for spiritual care, family systems, and understanding grief and bereavement. Call for exhibitors for Health & Wellness Expo
Exhibitor and sponsorship applications are currently being accepted for the fourth annual Health & Wellness Expo in Glenwood Springs. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Ramada Inn & Suites.
The Health & Wellness Expo is being produced locally in hopes of providing information and education about integrative health and preventative wellness solutions that are available throughout the valley. The event will feature more than 30 educational vendor booths, informative speakers and interactive activities for all ages.

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

Applications available for Strawberry Days fine art & craft show and food fair
Applications for the 118th annual Strawberry Days Fine art & craft show and food fair are now available at strawberrydays.com. The applications for both aspects of the festival will be juried. Fine Art & Craft Show applications are due March 30, and Food Fair applications are due March 16.
The Fine Art & Craft Show represents fine artists and crafters from all over the United States selling hand-made, one-of-a-kind items. The Food Fair features traditional favorites and international delights.

Cowboy Up Carbondale accepting beneficiary applications
In its seventh year Cowboy Up Carbondale will celebrate Carbondale’s unique western heritage with live music, dancing, barbecue and an auction to benefit a local nonprofit. Cowboy Up Carbondale is currently accepting applications for this year’s event beneficiary. Applicants must be a 501(c)3 and be able to provide volunteers that support their organization.
