Summer Reading Program: On Your Mark, Get Set, READ!

Join the Garfield County Libraries for the 2016 Summer Reading Program which begins June 1 and runs through July 30. This year will feature healthy activities, songs, dancing, ninjas, a magician, and fun for the whole family. Register at any of the six Garfield County Libraries or online beginning June 1. Meeker Classic Cattledog Trials

At the Meeker Classic Cattledog Trials June 15-19, 140 of North America’s best working cattledogs will gather to match themselves against Meeker’s tough, independent cattle as they compete for the national title. This trial represents the culmination of a year’s worth of qualifying trials as these dogs and their handlers travel from 31 states and provinces in Canada to compete at the National Cattledog Association National Finals. Silt Heyday

Silt Heyday will be the last weekend in July at Stoney Ridge Park. This year’s theme is Forging our Future, and the event will feature a concert and fireworks show on Friday, July 29; breakfast, parade, food, craft vendors, and free music with additional events at the Silt Historical Park on Saturday, July 30; and the Heyday Hobble 5K and the Heyday Car show on Sunday, July 31. Tickets for the Friday concert, booth, parade, hobble and car show forms are available at http://www.townofsilt.org under the tab for special events, or during normal business hours at the town of Silt Office.
