Free legal clinic at Basalt Regional Library

A free legal clinic for parties who have no attorney, will be featured from 3:30-5 p.m. Monday, July 11, at Basalt Regional Library, 14 Midland Ave. By computer link, volunteer attorneys will answer questions, help fill out forms, and explain the process and procedure for all areas of civil litigation, including family law, property law, probate law, collections, appeals, landlord-tenant law, small claims, veterans issues, and civil protection orders. Walk-ins are welcome, and everyone will be helped on a first-come, first-served basis.

Mr. Kneel: Hip-hop for families

Mr. Kneel and his hip-hop for families is a high energy and interactive performance for kids of all ages. Come join in the fun at the Garfield County Libraries as he beat-boxes and rhymes his way through the classics from Dr. Seuss to Kurt Vonnegut. Mr. Kneel will perform on Tuesday, July 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the Carbondale Branch Library and 1:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library; on Wednesday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m. at the New Castle Branch Library and 1:30 p.m. at the Silt Branch Library; on Thursday, July 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Rifle Branch Library and 1:30 p.m. at the Parachute Branch Library. Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

Darrell MacAulay, food educator and owner of Rooted Soul LLC, will present a free raw food tasting and demonstration as part of the Carbondale Branch Library’s adult summer reading program. St. Mary’s Bloodmobile Visit

The St. Mary’s Bloodmobile will be visiting the Rifle Branch Library for a blood drive at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20. One donation can help as many as four people, and the St. Mary’s Regional Blood Center supplies all hospitals on the Western Slope. It is safe, fast, and the easiest way to save a life. Family Movie Night

The New Castle Chamber and town of New Castle are sponsoring Family Movie Night at Elk Creek Elementary in New Castle. “The Goonies” will be shown on Aug. 4 and “Cars” on Sept. 1. There will be games at 8 p.m. followed by the movie at 8:30 p.m. Bring a chair. Concessions will be available.
