Love the Earth Recycling: Electronic Waste
Glenwood Springs Subaru will dispose of electronic waste for free from April 1-30, at 175 Storm King Road. This disposal will include: LCD Monitors (Flat Panel TVs, Computers); cell phones (smart phones and iphones); laptops; tablets and ipads; CRT’s up to 32” (tube TV or monitors); video games/consoles; fax machines; DVD/VCR players; printers; computer peripherals; switches/routers/cords and wires. Unacceptable items include: alkaline batteries; ballasts/light bulbs and tubes; kitchen appliances.
RFOV 2015 Project Season Kick-Off Party

Poetry Workshop with Claudia Putnam
Claudia’s fiction and poetry appear in dozens of literary journals. She is active in the Aspen Poets’ Society where she’s been a featured poet, the Roaring Fork Poetry Collaborative, the Aspen Writers’ Network, and the Glenwood Writers’ Group. Easter Holiday Library Closure
In addition to the four Garfield County Libraries which are usually closed on Sundays, the Glenwood Springs and Rifle Branches will be closed on Sunday, April 5 in celebration of Easter. Normal hours will resume at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 6 for all six libraries. Thank you for your understanding and continued patronage.
Financial Peace University
Sonlight Foursquare Church will be hosting Financial Peace University on Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m. starting April 7, at the church, 0355 County Road 132 in Glenwood Springs. The class will be held for nine weeks with the aim of helping people gain new practice and perspective concerning their personal finances. Sopris Elementary School kindergarten registration
Sopris Elementary School kindergarten registration will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 10. Bring your child’s birth certificate, current immunizations and proof of address. Hospice volunteer training to be held in Glenwood Springs
Hospice of the Valley will host comprehensive training sessions for volunteers in Garfield County on Thursday through Saturday, April 16-18, at 1901 Grand Ave. in Glenwood Springs. The three sessions will meet the required 12-hour training and will occur from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 16-17, culminating in an all-day 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. training on Saturday. Those who would like to be of comfort to those with a terminal illness, including military veterans, are encouraged to apply. Training topics will include dispelling hospice myths, how to be a good listener, care and comfort measures, guidelines for spiritual care, family systems, and understanding grief and bereavement.
