Thursday Night Rides

Loyal Brothers is teaming up with Roaring Fork Mountain Bike Association to help develop a stronger biking community in Glenwood. Thursday Night Rides will provide afternoon bike rides, live music and giveaways, and a portion of beer sales will go to help fund the development of local trails. Join us on our first gathering from 5:30-10 p.m. April 27 at Loyal Brothers Lounge, 813/815 Grand Ave. in Glenwood Springs, where we will give out more information about how to get involved. The Logan Brothers will perform, and there will be giveaways from sponsors.

Benefit for the Aaron Roberts-Gray Memorial Scholarship Fund

A benefit for the Aaron Roberts-Gray Memorial Scholarship Fund will take place from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 28, at S.A.W., 525 Buggy Circle in Carbondale. The event will include an art sale and auction at S.A.W. Annette and Andrew Roberts-Gray will be sharing their artwork along with work from their collection and works from participating S.A.W. artists.

Each year a scholarship is awarded to a male senior year student from Glenwood Springs High School to attend a college or technical school of their choice. Three $1,200 scholarships have been awarded thus far. Students may renew the scholarship if they are in good standing while they are in an undergraduate program. Last year’s recipient was Solomon Wheeler, who is attending the welding program at Lincoln Technical Institute in Denver. This year Alex Trejo was selected out of nine applicants. Alex will be attending Villanova University.
