Rifle Workforce Center open house
The Rifle Workforce Center will hold an open house from 1:30-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at its new location, 216 W. Third St. The public is invited, and refreshments will be served. A grand opening ceremony will take place at 1:30 p.m. with members of the Rifle Chamber of Commerce doing the honors and cutting the ribbon. Then, beginning at 2 p.m., the open house will offer a tour and provide information about services and programs to employers and job seekers. Employers can turn to the Rifle Workforce Center for customized recruiting, screening of skilled applicants, on-the-job training incentives, assistance with tax credits and information on employment law.
Pecha Kucha: Poetry
Pecha Kucha is a storytelling style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each. Most people use this medium to present their latest creative projects, work, or experiences. The key to a great presentation is to tell a story about something you love. In celebration of National Poetry Month, the theme will be: poetry. Bring your own or just come and listen. This event will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Carbondale Branch Library on Wednesday, April 15.

Glenwood Hot Springs Pool Tour Join
Roaring Fork Conservancy and get an inside look at the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool from 4-5 p.m. Thursday, April 16. Brian Ammerman, pool maintenance manager, will lead this tour from the source of the hot springs to the outflow and will also discuss pool history and water rights, geothermal heating, and pool operation and maintenance. Dress appropriately as the tour will happen rain or shine. As participation is limited, registration is required at: http://www.roaringfork.org/events. Low cost vaccination clinic
Colorado Animal Rescue is hosting a low cost vaccination clinic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, in Battlement Mesa Shopping Center at 71-1 Sipprelle Drive, next to Clark’s Market. Dog and cat vaccines available for $10 each, microchipping costs $25, and pet licensing available. All dogs on leash and cats in carriers. Call 970-947-9173 for more information.
