Lunch and Learn: Tips for working from home

Businesses whose employees will be working from home during the Grand Avenue Bridge Project may benefit from for a Lunch and Learn event from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at the Glenwood Springs Community Center presented by DTCI. Learn the best ways to remote in, security of business data, home Internet and WiFi must haves, and more. A complementary lunch will be provided. Beatbox and Rap with Mr. Kneel

Mr. Kneel shares his love of reading and helps “Build a Better World” with beatbox and rap versions of the classics from Dr. Seuss to Kurt Vonnegut.

The first events will be on Tuesday, July 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the Carbondale Library, and 1:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Library. On Wednesday, July 26, the Silt Library will host at 10:30 a.m., and the New Castle Library will host at 1:30 p.m. Finally on Thursday, July 27, the event will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Rifle Library, and 1:30 p.m. at the Parachute Library. All are free and open to the public.

DIY Cardboard Virtual Reality Viewer

Have you wanted to try out the new VR craze? Teens are invited to join us at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the New Castle Library where we will be assembling Google Cardboard Virtual Reality Viewing Glasses and using apps on our phones to test them out. There is a limit of 20 participants, and registration is required. It’s free and open to all teens in middle and high school. For more information call 970-984-2346.
