Keenan Hartert graduates from Carleton College

Keenan Hartert received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Carleton College during its 139th Commencement ceremony, held on Saturday, June 15.

Hartert is the son of Thomas Hartert of Glenwood Springs, and Lisa Hartert of Glenwood Springs.

Aug. 19: 8 a.m. to noon for seniors

Aug. 20: 8 a.m. to noon for juniors

Aug. 22: 8 a.m. to noon for sophomores

Aug. 23: 8 a.m. to noon for freshmen

New students may enroll from 1-4 p.m. according to the grade level schedule above.

Freshmen Orientation

Aug. 22: 8 a.m. to noon

Mandatory for all incoming freshmen. Mentor time provided with 11th and 12th grade “Link Crew” members. Meet all your new classmates, tour the school, follow your schedule, ask lots of questions, and get lots of answers from upperclassmen and teachers.

Sydney Sailor named to dean’s list at Lake Forest College

Sydney Sailor of Glenwood Springs was named to the dean’s list for the 2012-2013 academic year at Lake Forest College. The dean’s list recognizes students who have achieved distinguished academic records. It is compiled at the end of each academic year. To be selected for this honor, a student must have attained a grade point average of at least 3.60 for two consecutive semesters.

RFSD to hold school board director elections

The Roaring Fork School District will participate in the annual election on Nov. 5. Director Districts A and E are scheduled for election this year. These Districts are in the El Jebel, Missouri Heights and Basalt communities. For more detailed information about district boundaries and school board director qualifications, contact the district election coordinator at 384-6009. School board candidate petitions may be picked up at the district Office, 1405 Grand Ave., Glenwood Springs. Petitions must be returned by Aug. 30 or a candidate’s name to appear on the November ballot. More information is available at
