GSPI Summer Fun contest ends at midnight tonight

Dressed to the K9s

Join Colorado Animal Rescue (CARE) for the 14th annual fundraiser “Dressed to the K9s,” a fabulous fashion show featuring CARE’s most adorable animals at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at The Orchard in Carbondale. It promises to be an evening of fashion, fun and food (hors d’oeuvres by Fusion Catering and dessert by Killer Cupcakes), and an inspiring student video presentation from the Isaacson School for New Media at Colorado Mountain College. There will also be a silent auction and wine, beer and champagne bar. This community event is a way to support the homeless animals of Garfield County. Tickets are just $75. To purchase go to http://www.coloradoanimalrescue.org or drop by the shelter and speak with one of the staff members.

Adult Sunday School and Children’s Church

Adult Sunday School begins at the First United Methodist Church in Glenwood Springs (Ninth and Cooper) at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7. If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about the Methodist faith, now is a great time. It will be a six-week journey with Adam Hamilton about John Wesley, one of the founders of the Methodist Church.

Children’s Church begins at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7. We offer two classes: one for preschoolers through second grade and another for third- through fifth-graders. All children are welcome. For more information, call Toni Yorty at 970-948-5831 or email toni.yorty@live.com.
