Cub Scout graduation

On May 24, Cub Scout Pack 221 of New Castle proudly graduated another group of young scouts, forwarding their scouting career on to the local Boy Scouts. In attendance to commemorate the event was the new mayor of New Castle, Art Riddile, and John Acha, the Democratic nominee for District 2 county commissioner. The troop was honored to be presented with a very generous donation from the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #215 of Glenwood Springs. Monty Hayes, the aerie president, fundraised for his special project to benefit the Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts of America. Monty presented a momentary donation for the purpose of a scholarship that will enable all members of Pack 221 to attend the local Jolley Ranch Day Camp scouting event to be held in early June. In cooperation with John and Jennifer Acha, the local Eagles Club has ensured that every member of Pack 221 will be able to attend the event. Pack leader John Harcourt, the den leaders and the scouts would like to express their extreme appreciation for the most generous gift.
