Girls dominate at Fishing Derby

Close to 100 kids came out to participate in the New Castle Cub Scouts annual Fishing Derby. Prizes were donated by Mr. T’s Hardware, food by The Castle Valley Home Owners, and beverages by Pepsi. The top angler for the day was Ellie May. In the 8 and younger age group, she caught the first fish and also the most fish out of both age groups. Jack Brandes caught the biggest fish of the day. In the 9- to 15-year-old division, the first fish was caught by Zander Grant, April Gandiner had the largest fish, and the most fish caught went to Brianna Castanon.
