PEO awards book scholarships

Lynsey Atkinson, Megan Dayarmond, Vereniz Mellin Farias and Belen Pugia were awarded $750 book scholarships from the local PEO, AO Chapter. Lynsey is a freshman at University of San Diego, Megan is at the University of Denver, Vereniz attends Colorado Mesa University and Belen attends the University of Northern Colorado. All four young women are 2013 Glenwood High School graduates.

The AO Chapter of PEO’s Annual Elegant Auction will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at the Hotel Colorado. Tickets can be purchased at A La Carte in downtown Glenwood Springs, 945-5027. In addition to local scholarships for area high school graduates, the Girl Scouts and CMC’s GarCo Sewing Works will be the recipients of this year’s auction proceeds.
