59 Years of Kiwanis Annual Pancake breakfast
Each year Kiwanis provides a community pancake breakfast in Glenwood Springs to raise money for its scholarship programs. Occupying 9th Street between Grand Avenue and Cooper, next to Centennial Park, Kiwanis has established a community tradition, 2013 being the 59th year of this event. Locals and an occasional tourist enjoy breakfast festivities and visit with friends under the Colorado sun. The menu includes pancakes (often with blueberries), eggs, sausage, coffee, orange juice, and milk.
Over the years, entertainment has included musical and magic acts as well as a clown show. This year, Fresh Cut, the mandolin duo of Miles Petterson and Zachary Baker, showcased their mandolin skills. Fresh Cut won the 2013 Kiwanis Stars of Tomorrow Talent Showcase.
