Glenwood Springs Elks Host Disabled Vets

Glenwood Springs Elks Lodge No. 2286 hosted about 160 disabled veterans and DAV volunteers for lunch on four days beginning April 4. The veterans were in the region for the National Disabled Veterans Sports Clinic to ski and take part in other winter sports activities. The veterans were served game meat donated by members of the lodge and the community cooked by local chefs. Lodges in Aspen and Rifle also participated in hosting and serving the veterans. The DAV sponsored the event. After lunch the vets went to the Hot Springs Pool, where they enjoyed the hot mineral water.
